Staff Profiles

Robyn Ross — Director and Coach
Robyn is returning for her 8th season as a Head Coach for NVBC.
Robyn is also in her 8th season as the Varsity Head Coach at Nansemond Suffolk Academy (NSA) with a record of (171-49).  In 2013, her team finished with a record of 36-2, with a 31 match winning streak, and 30 straight matches without losing a set.  In 2014, her team repeated as VISAA Div II State Champions for the 2nd straight year.  In her 8 seasons at NSA, her team has played in 8 State Quarterfinals, 7 State Semi-Finals, and 4 State Championship matches.
Playing History: She was a 4-yr starter at outside and opposite hitter for the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Division 1 Women’s volleyball team. She was the first Division 1 player in USAFA history to average over 3 kills/game and led the team in passing percentage and aces.   While on Active Duty in the Air Force, she was also chosen as a member of the All-Air Force volleyball team to compete at Nationals.
Previous Coaching experience:  Graduate assistant at USAFA: coached the USAFA Prep School team, and assisted in recruiting.

Beverly Nuckles — Coach
Beverly is returning for her 8th season as a Head Coach for NVBC.
Beverly also currently serves as the Head JJV coach at NSA.
Beverly has been coaching volleyball for 30 yrs, and 16 yrs at NSA.  She has worked with both boys and girls at the collegiate and travel level.  She worked for Tidewater Volleyball Association for 15 yrs and more recently Virginia Beach Volleyball Academy, and now with Nansemond Volleyball Club for the past 8 seasons.
Beverly was a member of the ODU club volleyball team and played competitive beach volleyball for 15 years as well as adult women’s travel ball.

Anne Fowler — Coach
Anne is returning for her 5th season as a NVBC assistant coach.
Anne has been coaching volleyball for 26 years and currently serves as the Assistant Varsity Volleyball coach at NSA where the team has won the VISAA Div II State Championship 2 consecutive years (2013,2014).
Anne played volleyball for four years at The University of Mary Washington as a setter.
